This artifact demonstrates my ability to create a comprehensive instructional plan grounded in performance analysis and adult learning theory. The blueprint serves as a roadmap for building a scalable, asynchronous training program that supports accurate self-assessment among Canon Medical’s Field Specialists, addressing a core performance issue related to competency survey completion.
The document details instructional goals, assessment strategies, and interactive learning activities aligned with metacognitive skill-building. It also outlines an implementation strategy within an LMS, integrating multimedia, accessibility best practices, and knowledge checks.
Purpose
The blueprint was created to guide the development of a training solution that addresses inaccurate and inconsistent self-assessment practices. By promoting better metacognitive awareness, the training is designed to support data-driven decisions around staffing, resource allocation, and professional development.
Process and Tools
This design document was created using MS Word and Google Docs to allow for collaborative development and version control. Instructional strategies draw from Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction, the research of Lovett et al. (2023) on metacognition, and Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation. The blueprint also reflects alignment between objectives and assessments, and was intentionally scoped to integrate with existing LMS tools and processes for scalable delivery.
